Is the paint used safe for children's skin?
I only use EEC & FDA approved paints which have been passed as being safe for the skin. A few children can be a bit nervous of having their faces touched (especially around the eye area), or are too wriggly to sit through a painting. However, I can offer them an arm picture instead. Many younger children prefer this as they can see their picture afterwards. Due to manufacturers advice and my public liabilty insurance I only paint 3years and above.
If your child does have sensitive skin then please ask me to carry out a skin test about 20 minutes before they are painted, just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately I am unable to paint anyone with broken skin, cuts or sores, eczema, pink eye etc, or anyone who seems unwell. However, it may be possible to paint an area of unaffected skin.
I would appreciate it if snotty noses and dirty faces are cleaned prior to coming to me for painting.
I reserve the right not to paint some children.
What happens in the event of an accident?
I have Public Liability Insurance in place and risk assessments. The certificate can be viewed on request.
What Do I Do If I Think My Child is Having A Reaction To The Paint?
As with all cosmetics there is a very rare chance that a reaction might occur. If you think you or your child is having a reaction then remove the paint immediately with a mild soap and water. If the reaction is severe then seek medical advise.

How do I remove face paint?
Most of the time face paints wash off with mild soap and water, For best results remove with baby shampoo, water and a wash cloth. Avoid using baby wipes as these can be irritating to young skin and can react on occasion with the paint.
Some colours may remain after washing with simple soap and water. here are the best ways to remove:
Do not rub the paint to get it off as this pushes the paint into the pores and makes it stain more! Use a safe soap (make up remover, no tears baby shampoo, face wash etc) to make a paste with the soap and the paint. Let the soap and paint 'mess' sit for 30-60 seconds, then rinse it off with water.
For lingering colour use oil free eye make up remover, If you have already tried to remove the paint with another method and there is still lingering colour apply a moisturizing lotion, wait at least 30minutes and wash again. Another method for removing face paint is by dipping a cotton wool ball in baby oil or olive oil.
Be sure to take off paint before putting children to bed.
